family

Surprisingly I didn't gorge myself in holiday foods like I thought I would. It felt good to be sitting at the table, done eating, while everyone else was getting second helpings. I also made sure to have more veggies on my plate than anything else.

Sometime during the night before Christmas, our heat went out. I woke up to a house that was 54 degrees and dropping. My husband and I had talked about investing in a large space heater . . . hindsight is always 20/20, right?! Anyway, we had to pack up the cats and head to my sister's for the night. I'm grateful for my family in knowing that when I need them, they are there for me.

So while Christmas wasn't as wonderful as it could have been, I'm not complaining. It could have been much worse. I'm thankful for the good things that happened - they far outweigh the bad.

I hope all of you had a great Christmas filled with family and lots of love!
