Dr G was a professor of mine for my anatomy and physiology class. I asked him about books for the emotional/mental side of changing to a healthier lifestyle and he recommended these books:
The Great American Detox by Alex Jamieson - change your food, change your mood
The End of Overeating by Kessler - discusses food addiction and behavioral relations with food
I'm going to start with those, along with another one I remembered from his class, In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. All of them can be found on Amazon. The best part? I snagged all three for a penny each. They won't be here until after Christmas, but that gives me time to figure out what's going to be the best plan of action for me. So for now, my main focus is maintaining where I'm at, not gaining. Dr G wants me to keep him posted, to let him know how things work for me and I am going to keep my promise. It's kind of nice to have someone to report to, gives me a good reason to stick with everything! His healthy eating book club is starting back up in January, and I'm more than likely going to join.
I think it will be good for me.
